Lesbian, gay or bisexual? Your views are needed
Are you a lesbian, gay or bisexual person with experience of using social care services? Or have you thought of using services?

If so, the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) needs your views in their new survey. The information you provide will be confidential and your answers will be anonymous.

Why are CSCI doing the survey?

The Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) registers, inspects and reports on adult social care services in England. Their job is to improve social care and stamp out bad practice.

In April 2007, new laws came into effect outlawing discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation for people using services. To help social care service providers get things right, CSCI is producing a bulletin about making social care services accessible and appropriate for lesbian, gay and bisexual people.

The views of lesbian, gay and bisexual people with experience of using social care services will be central to the bulletin.

CSCI will also look at what service providers have said that they are doing to make sure lesbian, gay and bisexual people get fair treatment when using services.

Give CSCI your views

Your views will help CSCI to help social care providers improve services for lesbian, gay and bisexual people.

You can fill in the survey online by going to:

www.csci.org.uk/lgbsurvey

The survey is also available to download and in different formats, including large print and easy words and pictures.

If you want CSCI to send you a copy of the survey through the post, please telephone Lucy Wilkinson on 0113 220 4646 or email lucy.wilkinson@csci.gsi.gov.uk

The survey will be open until 31 October 2007.
